In summer the bay in front of Gumusluk is full of yachts that bring here guest to savour great fish and Turkish meze. Restaurants are small and atmospheric with friendly locals. It is possible to spend some time walking on shore and see how villagers live their daily life in the decorations of whitewashed houses and blooming bougainvillaea. You can also walk to see ancient ruins of a small Carian town that was founded by Mausolus in the 4th century BC. According to historical facts, local harbour gave shelter to the fleet of Egypt in the same century. It is also mentioned that the ships of Gaius Cassius Longinus, one of Julius Caesar's assassins, spent some time here in 44 BC.

Spend the night in this harbour or ask the captain to move closer to the village of Yalikavak that is scheduled for day 3.

Before heading back to the harbour of Bodrum, pay a visit to Golturkbuku (previously named as Turkbuku). It is considered to be the “St Tropez” of Turkey. In hot summer days this place turns into one of the most fashionable places “to see and to be seen”. Famous actors, singers, and other celebrities spend here their holidays. The most exciting nightclubs of Istanbul close their cosmopolite doors and open lounge and clubbing residences in Golturkbuku. Yet, this area manages to keep its “summer house” ambience with beautiful nature, mandarin and olive trees growing around. Golturkbuku is famous for its mix of authentic small cafes with local food and world-class restaurants, numerous bays with turquoise water of the sea and peaceful sounds of cicadas singing.
